Meath Epilepsy Charity

The Meath Epilepsy Charity, based in Godalming, Surrey, aims to enhance the lives of people who have complex epilepsy and related disabilities by ensuring they receive the support, expert care and encouragement required to build confidence, acquire new skills and maximize independence in their daily lives encouraging them to become valued members of the wider community. These are good and positive times for The Meath who in 2017 celebrated 125 years of being a charity and received an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating. We offer a world of possibilities for people challenged by epilepsy and associated disabilities. The Skills and Enterprise Centre at the Meath has a specialist gym and runs sessions including horticulture, ceramics, IT, a choir and expressive arts. All of the class members have complex epilepsy and physical disabilities. The Meath is a much-applauded example of a Charity thinking out of the box. Our social enterprise, Changing Perceptions in Godalming High Street is an example of new ways of providing valuable skills training whilst also gaining much needed income to help maintain and develop future services. In 2018 The Wisley Foundation has provided funding for the refurbishment of a new kitchen.
